So… I learned how little I know about Bees! Main takeaways:

• Honeybees are doing just fine because they are commercialized (the speaker actually described them as livestock), but native bees could still use some help
• Colony collapse disorder is no longer a thing and was only around during 2016
• Native bees are actually solitary and do not have hives in the way that we typically think about them. Because they don’t have hives to protect, they are much less aggressive, and most of them actually do not sting
